  • A focus on native species, but also inclusion of exotics as appropriate

  •  To give tamariki opportunities to experience all the benefits of better understanding where their kai comes from and how to grow things

  •  To foster a connection with the natural world

  •  To ignite and foster an environmental ethic

  •  To encourage activity and reduce obesity

  •  To provide opportunities for our whānau to teach our tamariki traditional skills and tikanga around activities such as kūmara, pikopiko, and mānuka cultivation, harvest and use.

  •  To be beautiful for beauty’s sake
